FAQ
Everything people ask before ordering European windows.
Codes, ratings, lead times, shipping, customs, installation, warranty, samples, measuring, payment. If it is not here, ask us.
Getting Started
Two ways. Use the online configurator to design each window or door and submit your project, or upload your architectural plans or window schedule and our team will take it from there. Either way you receive a detailed, itemized quote—typically within a few business days.
No. Approximate sizes are fine for an initial quote. Before production we confirm every opening with you (or your contractor) and issue shop drawings for approval, so nothing is built until the dimensions are signed off.
Yes. Request a corner-section sample of the frame and glass in your chosen material and color. It is the best way to feel the build quality and check the finish against your interior.
Codes & Performance
Our systems are engineered to high European performance standards and are used in US projects across the country. Code compliance is verified project by project; we supply the technical data your plans examiner needs. Egress, tempered-glass locations, and wind-load requirements are reviewed during shop drawings. Performance values are listed on each product page and in our Certifications & Specs section. Values currently marked [TBD] will be published as our US testing program is completed.
A window whose single sash can either tilt inward from the top for ventilation or swing fully inward like a door for cleaning and egress—controlled by one handle. It is the standard window type across Europe because it seals tighter, locks on all sides, and is easier to maintain.
Lead Times & Shipping
Plan for roughly [X weeks] from approved shop drawings to delivery at your door. That covers production, quality inspection, ocean freight, US customs, and final-mile delivery. Your account shows the live status at every stage.
We do. Your quote is door-to-door: ocean freight, import clearance, duties, and delivery to your site are managed by our US company. There are no surprise bills at the port.
Every unit is crated and photographed before it leaves the factory. Inspect on delivery and note anything on the delivery receipt. Confirmed transit damage is replaced or repaired at no charge to you.
Delivery & Installation
We manufacture and deliver. Installation is handled by your contractor or by a certified installer from our Installer Network. We provide detailed installation guides, and our team is available to your installer by phone and video.
We schedule a delivery window with you in advance. Units arrive crated on a truck with a liftgate; you or your contractor should be on site to receive and inspect them. Large lift-and-slide panels may require equipment or extra hands to move—we will tell you in advance.
Warranty & Support
Warranty terms are published on our Warranty page. [Placeholder: warranty terms to be confirmed by Alax Inc.] Claims are submitted through your account with photos and tracked to resolution.
Yes. Handles, gaskets, hinges, and glass units are stocked or shipped from our US company so service does not wait on a container.
Payment
A deposit confirms your order and schedules production; the balance is due before the shipment is released from the factory. Pro accounts may qualify for Net terms after approval. [Deposit percentage placeholder]
Yes. Apply for an Alax Pro account to access project tools, bulk schedule upload, dedicated account management, and trade terms.
